My Wedding Update
After going back and
forth, and trying to decide WHERE to have our
wedding.. we have also had to figure out the WHEN. We
haven't been in a big hurry to set a date, or plan
much of anything for that matter, but it had been our
plan to tie the knot sometime in 2009. However, after
finding the the right venue has proved very
challenging, and it seems that it is simply bad
timing for most of the important people in our lives,
and bad financial times for almost everyone, we have
decided to wait until 2010. We are still planning on
Lake Tahoe, which to not do a winter wedding leaves
you with about 3 months during the summer when you
won't really have a chance of a freak snowstorm. So
as of now we are thinking of June 2010. It sounds so
far away, but if things keep up the way they do I am
sure it will be here before we know it. This will
give us the time to do it right, save money, and
hopefully give our guests enough time to get prepared
as well.
I definitely feel less stressed out with this decision and can focus on the projects at hand for KT Merry Photography. I have not made any vendor/venue decisions yet for the wedding, and think I will slowly start to now. Does anyone know of a great property in Lake Tahoe that would rent it out for my wedding?? Any other ideas? We're only going to do it once, better do it right!!

Veronica and Jeremy, El Conquistador, Puerto Rico 10.25.08
Veronica and Jeremy wed
at El Conquistador hotel of Puerto Rico in true
destination style. Most of their guests had been
there for a few days before the wedding and had
begin celebrating from the moment they arrived.
They were a rowdy and excited bunch and I had
caught bits of stories from earlier in the week of
golf carts being rolled, shots, and hangovers to
go 'round. You could say they were making the most
of it!
Chris Joriann and I arrived on Friday to photograph the Saturday evening wedding and reception. The location was beautiful and Veronica, being a planner herself, did not miss any details. From all the groomsmen with monogramed shirts, to the bridesmaids matching monogramed jumpsuits, to bridesmaid cups, luggage tags for guests and it went on and on.. I always love the details!
After the wedding the party continued with dancing, dancing and more dancing. Veronica and Jeremy, (who I might add, have been dating for 10 years!) even finished the night off with a Dirty Dancing 'lift'. Congrats to Veronica and Jeremy and here's to many more years of celebrating!

Craziness and Puerto Rico!!
Well, the last week has
been a little crazy busy, and I have been a bad, bad
blogger. However, I will make it up!! I am so happy
that season is back and the weather is finally
getting cooler! I am busy with new and past brides
and getting ready for the Wedding Salon Event
at the Biltmore,
November 10th. Which is invitation only, but if
you'd like to go be sure to email me and I'll get
you on the list so you can come see us!
This last weekend I was in Puerto Rico for Veronica and Jeremy's wedding. It was beautiful, and reminded me how much I love destination weddings! I will post more tomorrow but here is some eye candy for now!

My latest Wedding Inspiration Board
Though I haven't had
much time to work on planning my wedding, I have
still been collecting ideas, images, and inspiration.
We are gearing more towards a wedding in Lake Tahoe
(the area I'm from), and haven't set a date, but
looking at late this summer (if a miracle happens) or
early summer 2010. Its been incredibly hard to find a
outdoor venue on the lake. I have been looking at
private homes mostly and many have restrictions
(curfews, yuck!), or are just way too expensive. We
are set on having everything mostly outdoors, and
would love to either have the lake or a ranch type
setting.
If you are a bride, I have found it very helpful to put together inspiration boards to show the feel, and mood that you would like on your day. It can give you a focus and direction. Here is my latest:

Nicole and Jeremy's Wedding, The Sunday House, Del Ray 10.10.08

I shot Nicole and
Jeremy's wedding with the wonderful
Chris Joriann this weekend at
The Sunday House in Del Ray. I have been to the
Sunday House for Brunch (so good!) but never for a
wedding, and it was great! They have adorable
little cottages and a tropical paradise that is
great for smaller, intimate weddings. You would
have never known is was October though, no one got
the memo that Summer is supposed to be over, we
were all melting!! Nonetheless, Nicole was
stunning, and the whole wedding was beautiful..
Enjoy!

Bunny?
Oct/02/08 08:33 PM Filed under: My Life
Today I was on my way
home with my dog, Axl in tow, when I decided to stop
into a local dog park to let him run around. On my
way in I saw a little black bunny hop into the woods.
I know there are no wild bunnies in South Florida,
but I didn't see where he went in the dark woods. So
we headed into the dog park, Axl ran around like a
maniac, and after getting throughly covered in mud,
we were on our way back out. I decided to keep my
eyes peeled in case I saw the dark little bunny
again, and sure enough I did. He was sitting in the
woods, just barely off the road, clearly out of
place, and not quite sure what to do. Someone must
have dumped him. When I walked up to him, he hoped
right up to me. So I picked him up and he rode in my
lap all the way home. I gave the little guy a bath,
some lettuce (which he scarfed!), and let him hop
around the house. He was clearly someone's pet, and I
think even litter box trained. Axl has been having a
great time 'babysitting' him and has made it his
personal job to watch his every move.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep him (I already feel terrible having my big dog in this little condo), and I think my fiance would not be very happy (I tend to want to keep any furry thing that enters my life). So if you know of anyone that might have a good home, please email me. Here is the little guy... I nicknamed him Jack.
And of course some Axl pictures..
