In Love in Haiti...

After an engagement involving the Cirque de Soleil show Cavalia and a horse kneeling down in a white tent while Sebastien asked for Coraline's hand in marriage, the couple plan to tie the knot in Islamorada, Florida at Pierre's with a destination wedding. The gorgeous couple live in Port Au Prince, Haiti and brought us down to shoot their engagement session. We spent an incredible weekend traveling all over Haiti shooting in the mountains, traveling winding, treacherous dirt roads, through the devastation of Port Au Prince, to their tranquil beach house, their parents hillside homes and all the little towns in between. The country is beautiful and it was truly an experience being there. It was amazing to get a glimpse of what living there is like and seeing first hand the destruction from the earthquake. Thank you so much Coraline and Sebastien for you and your families opening your homes to us, it was an amazing experience that we will never forget.
We can't wait until the wedding!

A Vizcaya Engagement.. Andrea & Ariel

I'm headed out this morning on a 6 AM flight (ouch!) to Vegas for WPPI and then my bachelorette party and then to Northern Nevada for a little wedding planning... yeah!!! I apologize in advance if the blog slows to a crawl while I am gone, but I'll be back soon!

On Saturday I spent the afternoon with Jen and Brian at Vizcaya Gardens for their engagement session. In spite of it raining pretty much the entire shoot (gotta love hurricane season!), we still managed to have a great time. They are getting married in December, can’t wait!

Jen and Mike, Engaged!

While in Nevada I spent the afternoon with Jen and Mike for their engagement session. I have know Jen since we were kids and it has been a blast getting back in touch with her before I shoot their backyard wedding in August. Jen and Mike are an energetic and fun couple, and Jen has always had a playful and creative sense of style (I can’t wait to see the wedding details!). In spite of the rain clouds on our tails we had a great time shooting at Jen’s parents house with their horse, Mic and in the oldest town in Nevada, Genoa. I’m looking forward to getting back out to Nevada for their wedding, congrats!

Ashlee and Kenny, Engaged!

While I was in Nevada planing my wedding I spent some time with one my greatest friends Ashlee and her fiance, Kenny. I have been friends with Ashlee since I moved with my family to the town of Gardnerville when I was about 12. Ashlee is one of the kindest people I have ever known. To no surprise, she met an amazing guy who rivals her in both kindness and compassion. Ashlee teaches special education mathematics at the middle school level (wow!) and Kenny is a counselor at a juvenile detention center (double wow!). They share each others love of the outdoors, dogs, horses and even hunting. I am so happy that they found each other and now are getting married, I can’t wait!

It is always such a pleasure to photograph friends and family, and though I will be walking in Ashlee’s wedding I will have the honor of shooting it as well (it won’t be the first time I will be wearing two hats!). Luckily, at Ashlee’s wedding I’m pretty sure I can leave my heels at home and wear my cowboy boots. I can’t wait for her country celebration and to see them both walk down the aisle! Congratulations Kenny and Ashlee, I couldn’t be happier for you!

Alicia and Alvaro, Esession

On Thursday I meet with Alicia and Alvaro for their engagement session on the beach. They are getting married in October at the Gansevoort in South Beach (love it!). They are such a sweet couple, and Alicia has the best laugh, totally contagious!! We had a great time and they were such great sports.. they even ventured in the ocean! Enjoy!

Maria and Henrique's Engagement Session!

One of my best friends Lani and her boyfriend Steve spent the weekend with us visiting from Virginia Beach before the left for a cruise (fun!). I have know Lani since we were both 10 years old living on the same Marine base in Japan, a long time! It was so great to see her and meet Steve, and I couldn't resist taking them to the Miami Design District for some portraits.. here is a sneak peek and I will have more soon!

Susan and Robert's Engagement Session at Vizcaya

Yesterday I finally got to meet Susan and Robert who are getting married in April at Vizcaya Museum in Miami, which is an amazing venue! Susan and Robert came all the way from London to finish up there planning and do their E session. They are such a sweet couple, and it was very apparent that they simply adore each other. I had a great time shooting them and can only imagine how wonderful the wedding will be... I can't wait!!
